Wow, is all I can say. 3 weeks done and 7 to go and I am exhausted!!!
The police academy is nothing what I thought it would be.
I know more about law than I ever thought I would,
I have been literally tossed around, stunned, handcuffed, and used as a punching bag.
I have never been so sore.
I'm learning alot and I tip my hat to all officers now
This is so different from the Marine Corps, easier because it's not as stressful and not so strict
But the information I have to learn is above and beyond any college class I've ever taken.
I'm 30% done, cannot wait till it's over and I can actually put everything into action :-)
As for my private life, my roommate won.
My girlfriend had enough and broke up with me because she couldn't handle my roommate
I am beside myself, can't figure out if I should be crying or beating my heavy bag.
It's not fair, I finally find someone that I'm compatible with and with nothing I have done it's gone.
I knew life was too good to be true - something had to go wrong and low and behold it did.
I won't be trusting for awhile, so maybe it's a good thing that my life is consumed with studying.

To realize
The value of one-second:
Ask a personWho has survived an accident.
Time waits for no one.
Treasure every moment you have.
You will treasure it even more whenyou can share it with someone special.

Last Call
So today was my last day at my current employment -one of the happiest moments I've had in a long time!
Monday I start my new career, a career I've worked to get for over a year
In just over 10 weeks I will have the title of Officer - I will be a police officer for Hodgkins, IL
I'm alittle nervous - not of the classes I have to take, not of the physical training I have to take
But of the CHANGE
Why is change so difficult, so scary?
I'm extatic - even after having to dish out over $1000 for the pistol and gear...I keep saying it's an investment (an expensive one at that)
But why am I so scared?
Also, my friendship of 5+ years with my Marine Corps buddy/roommate is falling apart because she doesn't want me dating this girl I've been dating for alittle over a month
She says that I'm being a crappy friend because I'm choosing this girl over her,
I say she's being a crappy friend because she's trying to make me choose - when the girl hasn't ever done anything to her-in fact, they get along
This is the easiest relationship I've ever been in, I don't have to work at it...everything just happens
We get along sooooooo well, sometimes so well it scares me, that it couldn't possibly be real (i've never had that)
My roommate has even tried sabotashing it - something this good and is real
I haven't had happiness in so long, I struggled paycheck to paycheck
My father (father of 9 kids) is screwing my Mom and not paying his child support-i have become my Mom's support group
My sisters and brothers are always in constant need of some sort of help - me again
And I have never felt love - I'm finally feeling that, got the job of my dreams and everything should be going smoothly but alas I hit a brick wall
Will anything ever come as it should - EASY?
Life's a game, and even when everything seems to be falling into place there's a "Lose a Turn"
Deep breath,
Walk forward
Head held high
And roll again

Red Skelton and the Pledge of Allegiance
Red Skelton spoke these words on his show...they're powerful and this Country is in desperate need to hear these words, young and old alike - Happy 4th of July, the day we recognize our FREEDOM as AMERICANS - GOD BLESS THE USA
"I
me, an individual, a committee of one.
Pledge
dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self pity.
Allegiance
my love and my devotion.
To the flag
our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom. Wherever
she waves, there's respect because your loyalty has given
her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody's job!
United
that means that we have all come together.
States
individual communities that have united into 48 great states.
Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and
purpose; all divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to
a common purpose, and that's love for country.
And to the republic
a state in which sovereign power is
invested in representatives chosen by the
people to govern. And government is the people
and it's from the people to the leaders, not from
the leaders to the people.
For which it stands, one nation
one nation, meaning "so blessed by God"
Indivisible
incapable of being divided.
With liberty
which is freedom -- the right of power to live one's
own life without threats, fear or some sort of
retaliation.
And Justice
the principle or quality of dealing fairly with others.
For all
which means, boys and girls, it's as much your
country as it is mine.
***~~**~~***
Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country
and two words have been added to the pledge of Allegiance...
UNDER GOD
Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said
that is a prayer
and that would be eliminated from schools too?"
